Lilith

Many things in this world are deeply misunderstood, I am aware of this world being a projection of what the superior man whishes from the others to see. This place is corrupted filled with egoism, hypocrisy, jealousy, greed enhancing the levels of corruption. Yet this world wasn’t always this way, it all starts somewhere which is how we start the Story of Lilith a spirit, a fallen Angel and a goddess depending on who you speak with.

To understand this being we have to look at the two main stories related to this soul, for one she is associated to the goddess Lilitu who has been noted from earlier than 2000 bc. Lilith has been part of the Sumerian, Hebrew and pre-Islam culture and she was referred to by the title “hand of Inanna.” As Sumerian goddess she was viewed as one of the main deities who the Sumerian royal authority worshipped. She wore a stepped crown and was guarded by the bird of wisdom better known as the owl and the king of beasts who we know is the Lion. Yet in the Pre-Islam/Islamic texts you will find that Lilith was viewed as Adam’s first wife who wouldn’t bow down to Adam, she refused to submit to his authority and left. It is said she slept with Adam after his expulsion from the Garden of Eden and gave birth to the Evil Spirits, dark and negative souls. That isn’t where it stopped, Lilith was believed to have slept with the Devil as well and gave birth to the Djinn some of the oldest souls on Earth. They would use charms to protect their homes from Lilith as she was believed to steal and kill children. These weren’t the only legends about the ancient being Lilith, her story relates to the Sumero- Babylonian goddess Belili and the Canaanites where Lilith was Baalat, the Divine lady. With that said there has been a tablet from UR, CA 2000 BCE that she was addressed upon under the name Lillake but let’s dive in deeper starting the legends within the Judeo-Christian religion.

Lilith’s story amongst the Judeo-Christian tradition began as her being the original wife of Adam. It is said that she was a demon which I do not believe, she wouldn’t obey or submit to Adam instead she demanded equality for the were created together in the image of the creator. Adam refused and went to the creator asking for a wife who would be obedient, this angered Lilith. She left and made the caves on the shores of the Red sea her home taking other beings as her lover. Adam who had been alone in the Garden of Eden complained to the creator about his wife’s disappearance and was granted the help from three Angels who were asked to bring Lilith back. These beings ordered her to return, threatening the life’s of her children. Lilith believing this was the better choice held her own, refusing to return to Adam where she would be treated as less. The Angels carried out their threat and Lilith who was overcome with rage swore her revenge, threatening the life’s off all infants though this story has multiple sides. There is the threat in which she steals them, the threat in which she kills them and then the one in which she eats them. This wasn’t the only threat she made, she had announced that she would steal the seed of men to produce more demons. The creator who saw no way of making this work between the two created a second wife for Adam who some call the docile Eve.

When looking through these different ancient legends, myths and teachings what do we truly see? For one, we need to understand that not all things are as it seems, you will need to look beyond the surface. Which is why we look at the deeper meaning, let’s begin with Adam whose name means ‘to make.’ Placing him next to Lilith who’s name means of the night when if we look at it from a Akkadian point of view ghost or night monster. Both meanings are related to the night, though night monster appears to be the negative thoughtform. Together these names form to make of the night, what do we think of when we place a man and women together at night; intercourse. Now what is the product of intercourse, Life or in other terms sentiment consciousness which is another word for a wise one. A wise one means that this being had the ability to think for itself.

We are made to live in a world where we tend to take everything literal while the information given has always been symbolic, just handing over information wouldn’t benefit us. To learn we must read, research and discover before understanding the true meaning behind most of the legends and theories. For example; the term as above so below a term of duality that rules this world, you can’t have one without the other. Reflecting this symbolism back onto the history of Lilith and Adam you will see they represent the same thing. The darkness (night) and being created (to make) is nothing more but a symbolistic term for being created. However Lilith only was his first wife, Adam had asked for a new one whose name means life; Eve. Place their names together and it will form the meaning to create life. When you look at the three together you see the circle of life; you have the start in which you are created ;birth followed by life which ends in death often resembling the night. One of the main fears of humanity is leaving this planet, death because it represents loss, grief and darkness.

Adam and Eve who shared a partnership within the garden were confronted by the serpent who seduced the both of them to take a bite from the forbidden fruit. But what is the meaning behind this serpent? One of humanities well known paths is one of evolving, growth and learning. We keep creating and not all of it is good, we make mistakes and often start on a karmic path to restore what we had created on our own raising our vibrations through effort and hard work. A trade Adam and Eve both also possessed, they grew closer, their bond changed developing as individuals who gave in to lust; the forbidden fruit and therefor created life. They became creators of life who had sentient consciousness flowing in them and were able to create children even if it wasn’t what the creator had planned for them. What I have understood is that the creator did not believe they were ready, he wished for the first two humans to raise their vibrations before creating life. This mistake had gotten both Adam and Eve expulsed from the Garden, they were send to Earth where they got the chance to grow though it would take many lifetimes for them to reach their full potential which is why our souls incarnate life after life growing, learning and evolving until we reach our souls full potential.

But what had happened to Lilith?

One of the stories we are familiar with is; the Archangel Samael who is known as the venom of god and the executioner of death had fallen from Grace. He is said to have been the serpent who tempted Eve, he seduced her and impregnated her with Cain. Samael then became the consort of Lilith, Adam’s first wife who was believed to be his sexual partner. Together they created multiple different beings including a daughter named Sariel whose name means the sword of Samael. It is out of fear for these two beings to plague the Earth that the creator had decided to castrate Samael. This  story which derived from the Jewish lore holds yet again a large amount of symbolism.

Samael though fallen never was the evil entity others would believe him to be, Samael is Archangel Michael’s brother and in some lore he would be seen as his twin. One was meant to represent everything that is related to the day, sun and its spiritual connected animal is the lion while the other represents death, night and has the wolf as spiritually connected animal. They are the celestial representatives of dark and light, day and night both warriors with their own mission. This is why the Archangel Samael connected with the lady of the night Lilith while the Archangel Michael connected with the Divine lady Aurora. When we unite the names Samael and Lilith we form; blindness in the night but what does this exactly mean?

These two Angels have walked amongst us by choice, the reason they have done so is related to the title humanity has given them. They share the night, walking in darkness fulfilling their task, their duty. Does this mean I believe their positive, good and of light? Originally yes, for we all come from light yet they had to descent, fell in part to fulfill their and also because they both searched for individuality and power. While Samael wished for free will, not to serve but be treated as equal so did Lilith, disobeying her first husband Adam. As punishment both wander between worlds guardians of the death, protectors of the night, creators to all that comes from darkness such as Vampires.

But who is Lilith?

Lilith is a strong entity who much like Samael embodies the good and the bad sides of the soul. She is a fallen Angel yet also an ancient goddess worshipped by several cultures. She is Queen of her own realm and has a legion who she sends instead of herself. A entity who lives in the shadows, part of this world as much as the night is. Lore tells us Lilith has a daughter with the Archangel Samael named Sariel as I had mentioned before. Lilith resonates with the number 7 which  in the bible stands for; In Scripture, seven often symbolizes completion or perfection. Genesis tells us that God created the heavens and the Earth in six days, and, upon completion, God rested on the seventh day. If you ask me that is a strange meaning for an entity who has been seen as a demon.

Her magical intentions: knowledge, expanding ones knowledge, evolution, life, birth, growth, development, sex and lust, the night, lunar energies and vengeance. These are aspects that Lilith represents.
